Val Wishart, founder of Beyond The Numbers and Ambassador in our Edinburgh Executive team is delighted to have recently scooped the ‘High Profile Practice’ Award at the AVN Inspiring Accountants conference. AVN is a support organisation for forward thinking accountancy firms who are at the forefront of business advisory services. Commenting on the Award win, Val said:
“This award is about becoming known in the local business community for top class business advisory services and for helping business owners to grow their businesses through education and support. This is completely in line with what we are trying to do as a business so we are thrilled to bits!”
Val was a keynote speaker at the AVN Conference and the topic she discussed was ‘To Start You Need to Stop’. The clear message she shared with the audience was how she found the clarity she needed to stop being miserable (not that she’s a miserable person we hasten to add!) and start taking control of her business and her life. She discussed how since joining AVN her business has transformed and she now has the time and money to do the things she wants to do. Val asked the question – ‘What do you need to stop doing so that you can start to have the business you want and the life you deserve?’ a question she asked herself some time ago, and one which she recommends every business owner and entrepreneur should consider.
Beyond the Numbers is based in Charlotte Square in Edinburgh and has a vision is to use their skills with numbers and their networks to help business owners to achieve their dreams, goals and ambitions.
They are a small and friendly firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers with a strong emphasis on the business advisory aspect of our work and they put their clients’ interests at the heart of everything they do.
They work with owners of small private limited companies in Scotland because that’s where they believe their expertise lies and they believe that they can only provide the right service for their clients if they know them and understand what they are trying to achieve.
They aim to create a positive impact on the lives of those business owners by helping and supporting them to achieve their goals for their businesses. They love to use technology to speed up their work as much as possible so that they can spend our time talking to and helping their clients.
“Some say that accountants will be replaced by robots within the next couple of years. Perhaps this is true for the production of accounts but Beyond The Numbers believe that nothing can replace the personal relationship that they have with their clients some of whom have said that it’s thanks to them that they sleep at night!” said Val.
Val was also a Judge for our 2017 Awards.
