What was your first job after leaving school/further education?
I was sailor in the Royal Australian Navy – trained as a Medic.
When did you start your business & what prompted you to do it?
1 August 2019. I had been thinking about it for about a year before I was made redundant because the SME I worked for decided they didn’t need a full time marketing department. They were right. This prompted me to develop the idea of Marketshare, a shared marketing department for SMEs.

What have been the biggest challenges you’ve faced?
Maintaining self belief and momentum.

Grow my client base through helping as many SMEs as possible.

Don’t underestimate the power of LinkedIn.
Tell us something about you that isn’t commonly known.
When I left Australia we were in the grips of a five year drought – I still get excited when it rains….which means I am excited nearly every day in Scotland! I owned an advertising agency in Australia for thirteen years with a core staff of 10. I merged this agency with a larger agency so I could focus on international marketing. I moved to Scotland to be closer to my wife’s family in 2010.

I joined WeDo Scotland because Graham Langley and Belinda Roberts invited me. It looked like a great way to extend my network and get to know more like-minded people.
