In our second In The Trenches event, we’re delighted to be welcoming Gordon Dewar, CEO of Edinburgh Airport as guest speaker.  Gordon has been in his current role for 8 years and during this time, Edinburgh Airport has grown to become the busiest in Scotland and the 6th busiest in the UK.  In 2019, passenger numbers grew to 14.7M and 37 airlines flew 221 routes to 158 destinations.  Edinburgh Airport directly employs over 600 people and their ons-site partner operations, brings the total number of employees to 7,000.

Our thanks to Gordon for kindly giving his time and sharing his experiences of the current crisis, thoughts & advice with us, not least given the additional pressures currently in lockdown.

Key points Gordon will be sharing with us include:

  • His experiences of COVID-19 running an international business with multi-disciplinary teams of 600 direct employees.
  • In the trenches:  what impact the crisis has had on Edinburgh Airport to date.
  • How the business will adapt and change going forward.
  • How he sees the future of travel, both domestically and internationally.
  • Lessons he’s learnt due to the crisis.
