  • November Networking Breakfast
    20 October 2022
    8:30 am - 10:00 am

Our Networking Breakfasts are a key monthly event in the Scottish business calendar and take place in Edinburgh and Glasgow.  They are open events where both members of WeDO and non-members are welcome.  Offering a fantastic opportunity to spend a full hour networking, we alternate each month between an entrepreneurial speaker who will share their journey (including challenges faced – no rose tinted glasses overviews!) and topic based, where the speaker will share their expertise and tips on a specific subject.  Places are limited to 50 to enable effective networking and are allocated on a first come first served basis.   Please note that tickets must be booked in advance and will not be available on the door.

This month, we are delighted to be welcoming Caroline Alexander of LoveRose Lingerie who appeared on Dragon’s Den this year.  Caroline will be joining us at both our Glasgow and Edinburgh breakfasts.  Caroline’s journey to date takes inspiring to whole new levels and it is wholly fitting that she is our guest speaker in October which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  If you would prefer to attend the Glasgow Breakfast, please click HERE.

ABOUT CAROLINE

Caroline Kennedy Alexander is the woman behind the UK’s first luxury lingerie brand developed specifically for post breast cancer surgery.

The Edinburgh-based entrepreneur and designer created her luxury brand LoveRose Lingerie after being dismayed by the lack of attractive and opulent lingerie available following her double mastectomy. The brand, is named in tribute to Caroline’s late sister Rose, who died in 2014 from breast cancer.

Caroline unveiled her range of unique luxury lingerie on BBC One’s Dragons’ Den earlier this year.  Despite not receiving an investment from the Dragons, the Edinburgh-based brand experienced a surge in orders and secured investment from private sources, including a viewer who had their own personal experience of breast cancer.

Caroline set out to create a luxurious post-breast surgery lingerie range that looks beautiful and helps boost women’s self-esteem and confidence following the physical and emotional trauma of surgery.  Designs are specifically tailored for the complex needs of post-surgery such as mastectomy, reconstruction, scarring and swelling.

One in seven women in are diagnosed with breast cancer throughout their life, with 55,000 women diagnosed every year. Advances in treatment means there are more than 500,000 women living well, many of whom have undergone some form of surgery. Research¹ has shown that women who have been through breast surgery often find the right underwear becomes essential to both physical and mental comfort due to the changes that their bodies go through.
