Our Supper Clubs are one of our most popular events and always sell out every month.  They’re informal, relaxed evenings and are the perfect mix of inspiration, good food and great conversations.  They give members the best opportunity to get to know their fellow members, meeting those they’ve not met and catching up with those they do. Watch the video at the foot of this page to find our what some of the attendees said about one of our 2022 Edinburgh Supper Clubs.

This month, we’re delighted to be welcoming Peter Proud FRSE, founder and CEO of Forrit.  An outstanding entrepreneur, Peter has an amazing journey to share with us – the successes, the challenges and the lessons he has learnt along the way.  Peter is well known for his honesty and down-to-earth approach to business, he is definitely the epitome of WeDO values in terms of sharing his knowledge and experiences alongside his honesty and pragmatism.

“I was once told being great at your job just makes you good… it is not until you help make others great, you can claim to be great at your job.”

ABOUT PETER

Peter is the Founder and CEO of Forrit, a digital technology company headquartered in Edinburgh. Forrit delivers a cloud based CMS that helps their customers deliver their messages globally through digital channels, at speed, at scale, in an efficient and effective fashion.  Peter has long been a passionate supporter of young people and is a leading example of the success of employing apprentices since founding Forrit in 2013.

Before founding Forrit, Peter was Head of Digital Strategy for Europe for Microsoft. In this role his responsibilities included product development, sales, marketing, support, off-shore service delivery and alliances, with a reporting line direct into a main Board member of Accenture who was a direct report to the CEO. While under the leadership of Peter, the software group tripled it’s revenues in a very competitive marketing place providing marketing-based development, analytical, and operational tools to some of the worlds largest financial services, CPG, telecommunications, and automotive clients.

Prior to this Peter was one of the founding Partners of Accenture Interactive as Managing Director of Strategic Accounts and Partnerships where he provided integrated marketing, technology, and analytics solutions for the digital world.

Before joining Accenture, Peter had an initial stint at Microsoft for 15 years as a senior director managing accounts for some of the world’s leading household names and was integral in the establishment of Microsoft’s ‘One Microsoft’ initiative. During his time at Microsoft, he won several gold star awards for the delivery of excellent work.

A passionate advocate for the digital technologies industry, Peter is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde’s Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship and the University’s first Inspire Entrepreneur in Residence.

ABOUT SUPPER CLUBS

In Edinburgh, they are held in the private dining room of the 6th floor 1820 Rooftop Bar at the Johnnie Walker Princes Street with breathtaking views of the city and access to the outdoor roof terrace.

Places are strictly limited to 14 people with tickets available for members on a first come first served basis.  By keeping these events intimate, we ensure there are plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as an open forum where all attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the emerging themes from the speaker as well as their own experiences.  Shared experiences are at the heart of WeDO, ‘individually we can be successful, together we can be extraordinary’ and Supper Clubs give us the opportunity to do just that!
