This month we’re delighted to be welcoming our member Ken Morrice, Founding Managing Partner of MM Search and GB British Triathlete. ABOUT KEN

We love analogies that cross business with sport and Ken Morrice has plenty of observations and experiences to share.  Ken is the Founding Managing Partner of MM Search, Scotland’s fastest-growing, award-winning executive search firm. MM Search was runner-up in our 2023 HIgh Growth Company Award.  MM Search works across all sectors and disciplines with companies of all sizes, operating throughout the UK and internationally.

Ken found his passion for executive search having worked as a director of one of the top 3 global recruitment firms. Identifying a gap in the market for a more ‘people-centric’ approach, MM Search was launched in 2018. Having just celebrated their 5 year anniversary, the business has grown rapidly with a thriving team of 20 based in Blythswood Square, Glasgow.

MM Search has seen substantial financial growth over the past 5 years, working with over 120 clients, across 40 countries. The client base continues to expand, with global brands KCA Deutag, WH Malcolm, Havelock One and CCL joining the portfolio. In addition, MM Search prides itself in establishing long term relationships with clients, including Wheatley Group, SMS and CJ Lang.

Focused on continuous improvement, Ken completed the Entrepreneurial Scotland Conscious Leader Catalyst Programme in 2021 and has been shortlisted as a finalist for the IoD Director of the year award.

In addition to running MM Search with co-founder Derek MacFeate, Ken regularly competes as part of the GB British Triathlon Age Group Team, consistently finishing within the top 10 across his races this year so far.  Ken has been travelling to various major competitions across Europe including the 2023 European Standard Distance Triathlon Championships in June 2023 in Madrid, the World Aquathlon Championships 2023, held in Ibiza and in July, the World Sprint Triathlon Championships in Hamburg and most recently the European Aquathlon Championships 2023 which took place in Menen, Belgium. The final race of the year will be the World Olympic Distance Triathlon Championships in Spain at the end of September.

Ken is undoubtedly no stranger to impressive sporting events, having completed a number of Half IronMan events and in 2021 he took part in gruelling full IronMan competition in France in which he swam 3.8km, cycled 180km and completed a full marathon. Despite being one the toughest physical challenges he has undertaken, Ken is now considering taking on another the near future!

Our Member Supper Clubs are participative, relaxing evenings enjoying good conversations, enabling members to get to know one another, hear from inspirational speaker or benefit from round table discussions.

The venue, August House is very handy for both Queen Street and Central stations so it’s very accessible for anyone travelling from outwith Glasgow.
