Our Supper Clubs are one of our most popular events and last year, every one sold out more than a week in advance of the event.  Due to demand, we added an additional 3 Supper Clubs which also sold out. Places are strictly limited to 14 people with tickets available for members on a first come first served basis.  By keeping these events intimate, we ensure there are plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as an open forum where all attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the emerging themes from the speaker as well as their own experiences.  Shared experiences are at the heart of WeDO, ‘individually we can be successful, together we can be extraordinary’ and Supper Clubs give us the opportunity to do just that!

This month we’re delighted to be welcoming our member Professor John Anderson, Non-Executive Chair and Director, in addition to Programme Director on the ScaleUp Institute endorsed Growth Advantage Programme and Help to Grow: Management at Strathclyde Business School. John will exploring various options for business owners to secure support for their company’s growth and suggest ways of getting the best from each option – from informal support to a formal Board.

ABOUT JOHN

As a specialist in entrepreneurship and growth, John brings close to 30 years of personal and professional experience working with the leaders of growth companies to his roles as Non-Executive Chair and Director in growing businesses.

During his career John has been exposed to several hundred growth companies in Scotland, variously as a CA in professional practice; as advisor and mentor; as owner-manager; as business school researcher, case study author and professor of practice; as peer learning and structured executive education specialist and as angel investor and Non-Executive Director and Chair.  He has an almost unique set of skills and experience of the challenges that every founder / owner faces at different stages of their growth journey and now applies this knowledge and experience at scale by delivering the Growth Advantage Programme and Help to Grow: Management and with a hands-on intensity as Chair of selected growth companies.

His strength lies in working closely with a founder or next generation owner to help them maintain their role as purposeful leader and to help them build a leadership team that is focused on strategy execution and operational excellence – all with the support of an Enlightened Board©.

John is currently Chair of social business Homes for Good Investments; premium women’s outdoor clothing brand FINDRA; team and leadership development company BlueSky Experiences and complex well drilling engineers Merlin ERD and is non-executive director of The Beal Group, a second-generation family manufacturing company.  He is also a Trustee of the Rannoch Community Trust.
