September Edinburgh Supper Club – Malcolm Robertson – Charlotte Street Partners
-
Supper Club
3 September 2024
6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Our Supper Clubs are immensely popular, consistently selling out due to their informal and relaxed atmosphere; combining inspiration, good food, and engaging conversations. These events provide a prime opportunity for members to connect, meet new members, catch up with familiar faces and of course be inspired by an engaging speaker sharing their entrepreneurial journey. Our speakers don’t share a ‘rose-tinted glasses’ story, they share the challenges they’ve faced along the way, as well as lessons learnt.
We’re delighted to be welcoming one of Scotland’s leading communications entrepreneurs, Malcolm Robertson, Founding Partner of the hugely successful Charlotte Street Partners. One of the most modest people we know, Malcolm is an outstanding speaker and has an abundance of thought-provoking stories to share about his business journey to date. He is also Chair of Street Soccer Scotland and some of you may remember him being in conversation with Street Soccer Scotland and London Founder and CEO, our member David Duke MBE. Don’t miss this Supper Club which is sure to give you plenty of food for thought as well as plenty of entertaining chat!
ABOUT MALCOLM
Malcolm is the founder of Charlotte Street Partners, a strategic communications advisory business based in Edinburgh. He has spent more than a quarter of a century helping organisations and individuals across business, the third sector, the arts and sport navigate a complex and often intimidating world in which the way we engage with one another has changed constantly.
He specialises in working closely with institutions and their leaders to develop long-term reputation building strategies that mirror the approach to risk that institutions take around other parts of their business, whether it be financial or operational.
Malcolm served what he describes as an apprenticeship with a PR agency in the west of Scotland, before embarking on a 12-year career at airport operator BAA, during which everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. On the frontline of several high-profile crises, he learned about his own resilience, and that of the company, and the importance of taking a step back to reflect and learn lessons.
Malcolm is also the chair of the board of trustees of Street Soccer Scotland and the Scotland advisory board of Unicef UK, which – he says
“Gives me a different perspective on the lives of others and challenges that will always be greater than mine”.

ABOUT SUPPER CLUBS
In Edinburgh, our Supper Clubs are held in the private dining room of the 6th floor 1820 Rooftop Bar at the Johnnie Walker Princes Street with breathtaking views of the city and access to the outdoor roof terrace.
Places are strictly limited with tickets available for members on a first come first served basis. By keeping these events intimate, we ensure there are plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as an open forum where all attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the emerging themes from the speaker as well as their own experiences. Shared experiences are at the heart of WeDO, ‘individually we can be successful, together we can be extraordinary’ and Supper Clubs give us the opportunity to do just that!
