Business owners, entrepreneurs and leaders must be involved in networking and building relationships continuously.  Yet, we have entered 2021 in an environment of video conferencing, remote working and no physical business networking events.   While the opportunities to network are far less, the need to do so has never been greater.   So, what are the options and where is the value in networking today?

WeDO Scotland is hosting an open webinar to explore the value of networking and the types of things you can, and should, be doing in 2021 to ensure your business continues to grow.  We will discuss how you can expand your network and connect with new customers in an increasingly digital world.

Of course, business networking is not just about finding new customers; it’s also about building relationships with like-minded individuals and sharing experiences.  Now, more than ever, it is essential to learn from one another.  Nobody has all of the answers, but together, we can share experiences and offer possible solutions to the challenges we face daily.  Peer-to-peer learning has always been a first-class way for business leaders to expand their knowledge, and now is the time to be taking advantage of networks that can provide a vast array of experiences.

Founder and CEO of WeDO, Belinda Roberts MBE, will be sharing with us the fundamentals of networking and the benefits it can bring when carried out in a structured way.  Belinda co-authored ’21st Century Networking’ with David Sole, published in 2015. The book challenges the common myth that networking is an ‘optional extra’ and another task to fit into an already crammed diary.  A stalwart believer in the power of networking, Belinda’s passion and enthusiasm for this (for some dreaded) activity is well recognised.

“Interpersonal relationships remain at the heart of success.  Unless we invest time in networking, our ability to achieve, grow and to develop both ourselves and our businesses is limited.  At no time in recent history has networking been more important.  With no face-to-face events taking place due to the pandemic, our approach to networking strategies should be adapted to these circumstances, not grinding to a halt.”

WeDO ChairmanGordon White will also join us. Gordon is Managing Director of fatBuzz, a Scottish digital marketing agency offering a range of services from social media and web development, to video production and design providing clients with an all-encompassing marketing service to help grow their brand. Gordon will be sharing his expertise on leveraging the power of your LinkedIn profile for online networking.

We will also be hearing from 4 entrepreneurs from the WeDO community who will be sharing their networking experiences – advice and support they have been able to tap into to enable them to pivot their businesses, introducing new revenue streams, finding investment and collaborations to form new partnerships.
