Justine Mitchell sells Chamomile Sanctuary to explore pastures new

Justine Mitchell, owner and founder of Chamomile Sanctuary the luxury day spa at Edinburgh’s West End, has today confirmed the sale of the award-winning beauty business to The Secret Beauty Garden for an undisclosed sum.

Chamomile Sanctuary was opened in 2010 by Justine, who is a former lawyer and has been working with WeDO in a strategic development consultancy role since February.  The business quickly became established and boasts partnerships with some of the leading skincare and beauty brands including Medik8, CACI, Crystal Clear, Guinot and Aromatherapy Associates.

The spa has won numerous Scottish and National Awards helping to firmly secure its place within the industry and business sector in Edinburgh.

Justine said:

“Making the decision to sell Chamomile was extremely difficult.  I have loved building the business and working with the wonderful team of therapists alongside a loyal client base however the time is right for both Chamomile and me.

The past couple of years have been challenging for everyone.  During that period I have developed a wider business portfolio and, sadly, Chamomile no longer fits the way it once did.  However, having taken time to ensure that a new owner would appreciate the brand and the values we have created I am confident that the team at The Secret Beauty Garden are well placed to help move it to the next stage.

I am so grateful to the staff for their loyalty and support and, of course, to our wonderful clients whom I will miss.  I wish everyone well.”

Laura Taylor of The Secret Beauty Garden is delighted to be acquiring Chamomile Sanctuary at such a key time as covid restrictions are finally lifting.  She said:

“We are delighted to have reached agreement with Justine to acquire this beautiful day spa.  We have a strategy to grow our own brand and Chamomile is a great addition to our group.

We are looking forward to working with the team and welcoming clients to the new Chamomile Sanctuary by SBG from 6 April.”
