Our members BizSchool are back in Grayshott Primary School in Surrey for the summer term and this time enjoying support from the local business community. Father of three Andrew Kinniburgh who founded Bizschool, a company which teaches children aged 9-15 how to set up their own company, said “We have had wonderful feedback from head teachers and pupils about our business courses but are aware that not every school has the funds to use us. ?For this reason, we have launched a corporate sponsorship package to partner local businesses with local schools that would like to participate.

We were thrilled when A&N Chartered Accountants in Haslemere offered to sponsor BizSchool in Grayshott.” Sarah Rout from A&N Chartered Accountants said

It was a perfect match for us.? We are based in Haslemere and were delighted to have an opportunity to support local school children.? We help our clients to grow their businesses and improve performance and profitability, enabling them to meet their individual challenges head on and achieve their most important goals. At BizSchool they are raising awareness and building enthusiasm for entrepreneurial and other really practical business skills at an early age. It is very satisfying to be able to encourage young people to understand how business works and to take part in it.

Pupils at St. Mary’s School in Chiddingfold are also learning how to become future entrepreneurs as BizSchool is currently delivering their innovative course to year 6 pupils there.

Andrew Kinniburgh continued “Our courses are very flexible and teach young people everything they need to know about starting up and running a successful business. Then they actually do set up their own real business. Courses can be tailor made to last from one week to a whole academic year, depending on the school’s timetable, and we cover everything from economics and marketing to presentation skills and how to write a business plan. It is highly interactive and great fun.? At the end, teams compete against each other in front of a judging panel to be the chosen business for the whole class.”

It’s the second time BizSchool have taught our year 6 pupils and the children love it.” said Mr Paul Davies, Head Teacher at Grayshott School. “It consolidates their academic learning and feeds their imaginations.? Last year’s class launched the highly successful “Ace Plates” and I really can’t wait to see what they do this year!? I’m also delighted to have the support of A&N Accountants this year.? Their generosity has been extremely helpful.”
