Seniors World Cup Football kicks off in Thailand with Jim Rae, our Chairman playing for Scotland

The Scotland Team
As you will know from previous blogs, our Chairman, Jim Rae?from the Elevate Group?is currently representing Scotland at the Seniors World Cup Football taking place in Pattaya, Thailand.
As he promised, Jim’s been sending us regular updates along with a few pictures that we thought we’d share with you.
They got off to a cracking start playing a friendly against Germany on Saturday and won 3-0, well done Scotland! ?Jim scored the third goal so hats off to him, we’re very proud of you!

Jim pre-match versus Germany
Their first match at the National Stadium was on Monday against New Zealand who have a strong team. ?They drew 2-2 so not a bad result at all for Scotland.
It’s not all been about football however, the teams have all done a fantastic job fundraising for children displaced by the Tsunami and have taken over lots of gifts for them including football strips, stationery, toys, games and are also giving them some coaching.
In between matches, Jim reliably tells us that the team have managed to have a few good fun nights in the bars of Pattaya with some pretty late finishes. ?That doesn’t seem to have held them back however. ?Jim says Pattaya is the hottest and most humid place he’s ever been to so hats off to them all for playing so well despite the challenging conditions which let’s face it, us Scots are not used to with our weather how it is!
Jim and the rest of the team really enjoyed a visit to the Grand Palace in Pattaya yesterday too, we were pleased to see they were all wearing their Scotland strips too!
This morning we heard from Jim again and Scotland were about to take to the field again, this time playing against Australia, another strong team. ?We wish them all the best of luck and look forward to hearing how they get on. ?We’ll keep you posted with further updates!

Jim looking very serious pre-match v Australia!
