Our judges are now in the final stages of shortlisting nominees for our 2014 Awards and it’s proving to be a challenging process.? With such a high calibre of nominees, this year’s bar has been raised even further.

Stage 2 nominees were required to complete a further application form which not only requires more in-depth financial information, but also delves deeper into the personalities of the nominees in terms of their ambitions for the future & their achievements to date.

We wish all of our nominees the very best of luck, the 2 finalists in each category will be announced this coming Friday 24th October.

Here is what some of the nominees had to say about the judging process:

Josh CarsonGearedApp

I have found the process very in depth, and has made me and the rest of the team at GearedApp stop and think about where we are going. It was great to reflect on everything and summarise it all within the questions that were asked.”

Gavin Neate Neatebox

“For Neatebox WeDo is part of our route to success but who wants to travel if they can’t enjoy the journey. ?Thanks WeDO.”

I really enjoy the process of the WeDO awards. It doesn’t take up hours and hours of your time (unlike some others) but does make you really think about your business, your processes and where you’re going. Hopefully I’m successful at this stage but if not, I’ve been able to take some time to think about our last years and our future, it reminds me we’ve come so far.”

?Knowing that my team is making a positive difference to vulnerable people?s lives every day is reward enough for me and I would not have put myself forward. However I feel very honoured indeed to have been nominated for a WeDO award this year ? receiving recognition from my peers for the contribution we are making has been a very humbling experience!??

The WeDO awards process has been a bit different to others that we’ve been up for recently. It’s felt a lot more personal than the Scottish Business Awards and the National Business Awards. I think this is more down to the family feel of the group, we also know the panel members which is nice! The dinner was a great evening last year and it’s great to be able to take a team this year! A testament to our progress!”

“I found the process very useful for helping me reflect on what?s happening in my business now and how we are moving forward.”

Abigail StevensThink Global Recruitment

“I was honoured to hear that I had been nominated for a WeDo award, going through the application form made me realise how many great achievements myself and Think Global Recruitment have made. I also found it very useful collating the application, which brought together facts, figures and our business plan, which I believe will assist us in being even more focused on ensuring we continue to have many more successes in future?

Stuart HunterAdvance Global Recruitment

“I have found the awards process at WeDO to be a highly professional and motivating experience. It has forced me to sit down and reflect on my experiences within my own business…..something I don’t often do as the main thing I feel I always do is plan for the future……so thank you!

Nathan Pike & Piers Bambridge?- Pike & Bambridge

I?ve found the awards process exciting ? not only because we have been nominated ? but also because I?ve had to quickly develop some new video production and editing skills which are bound to be of use in the future ? or perhaps I should outsource it to the experts! It is also exciting to learn about the other great businesses and entrepreneurs that have been nominated.”

Karina Baldorf?- Kakao by K

“As a business owner it is very easy to get caught up in the everyday running of the business, entering the WeDo award has been really valuable as it encouraged me to identify the overarching strategic strengths and successes Kakao by K have had.”
