2015 WeDO Scotland Entrepreneur Awards
Our 2015 Awards Ceremony & Dinner took place on Friday the 20th of November at The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa with over 180 Scottish entrepreneurs in attendance. The Judging Panel was, for the fourth year, chaired by Graham Langley, Ambassador in our Executive team and he was joined by fellow Ambassadors Martin Mutch, Dougie Walker (winner of our 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year) and Rod McMillan. This year’s dinner was bigger than ever and competition for the Awards continues to grow year-on-year, we congratulate all of our winners and runners-ups on their fantastic achievements.
ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
sponsored by Mazars
WINNER: Andrew Dobbie of MadeBrave
“I am absolutely thrilled at receiving the Award from the WeDO team. It’s really nice to be recognised for all the hard work that goes into creating a business. What a great way to end the year for me and my team. I look forward to seeing what the next year brings.” Andrew Dobbie.
YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR
WINNERS: Jordan Kay & Mark Le Bouedec of Blushbooth
“A big thank you to the WeDO team and the judges for awarding us with the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mark and I were just happy to be nominated so winning the award was a great surprise! The last 2.5 years have been a lot of hard work setting the business up as well as sacrificing our social lives as most of our events are at the weekend. It’s great to be recognised for all the hard work and it shows that it pays off. At the turn of the year we are launching in London and hope to carry the success of Blushbooth in Scotland to the whole of the UK and maybe even Europe.” Jordan Kay.
MOST INNOVATIVE BUSINESS
sponsored by Geoghegans Accountants & Business Advisors
WINNERS: Iain Fenwick & Kate Lenart of Citylicious
“Kate and I are totally overwhelmed having won the Award. When we first muted the idea of our business we were met by some cynicism however winning the Award just goes to prove that we were right to stick to our guns and forge ahead with it. We long felt that there was a gap in the market for a website which gave balanced & independent reviews of the hospitality sector and combining that with our producers village supporting artisan producers has been a dream come true. With our new website launching soon along with our booking management software, we are incredibly excited about what the future holds for Citylicious.” Iain Fenwick.
NEW START BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
sponsored by Pike & Bambridge
WINNER: Iain Swanston of Klozers
“Needless to say we are extremely honoured and grateful to be recognised by WeDO Scotland and thank them for their continued support. Running a business isn’t always easy and having a network of fellow entrepreneurs to support you on your business journey really helps. The events and conference have helped us invaluably with networking, raising our profile and learning from others in the group.” Iain Swanston.
We congratulate all of our winners and would like to thank all of our sponsors.
