We are delighted to announce the appointment of stalwart Glasgow entrepreneur, Gordon White as Chair of WeDO Scotland.  Gordon has been a loyal and proactive supporter of WeDO since we launched in 2008.  In 2014, fatBuzz won our High Growth Company Award before Gordon joined our Executive Team, latterly as Chair of our Glasgow team.

Gordon established his original marketing agency in 1986 and has worked with clients in myriad sectors throughout the United Kingdom.  In the early days, they provided design and marketing services, the business then moved with the times, re-branding as fatBuzz, enabling businesses to simplify their digital marketing and to adopt a sustainable digital strategy. Gordon and his team advise on content creation, brand journalism, influence marketing, email marketing, customers service, Facebook advertising and lead generation.

Previously, Gordon was brand owner of John Letters of Scotland, then the world’s oldest golf club manufacturer.

Commenting on his new appointment, Gordon said:

I am delighted and feel very privileged to accept the position as Chairman.  I have been an advocate of WeDO Scotland since its inception twelve years ago, but never more so than over the last eight weeks.  The organisation and its members’ response to the COVID-19 crisis have highlighted the value of WeDO Scotland, the way that members have come together to help one another has been truly encouraging and heart-warming.

I’d also like to thank Paul Atkinson for his contribution as Chair, and I look forward to carrying on the excellent work he has done throughout his tenure.

Looking to the future, I relish the challenge as we continue to deal with the current economic problems.  I am very confident that, working with the Executive Team and the members, WeDO Scotland will flourish.  There are genuine opportunities for us to expand our range of services and our geographical reach.  I look forward to helping grow the reach and influence that WeDO Scotland has within the business community, and as a powerful voice at Government level.”

Outgoing Chair, serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist, Paul Atkinson of Par Equity and Taranata Group, said:

WeDO continues to make amazing progress, supporting Scotland’s high growth SMEs, particularly at such a challenging time. As a long-term supporter and more recently as Chairman, I have very much enjoyed the journey, working with so many great people and their winning businesses. I am delighted to welcome Gordon White as the new Chair.

This is a fantastic appointment of one of WeDO’s longest standing advocates and one of Scotland’s most successful entrepreneurs.”

Belinda Roberts, founder of WeDO Scotland, added:

“We are very grateful to Paul for his considerable commitment and support during his time as Chair.  Gordon was a natural choice to step into the Chair role having been such a staunch supporter of WeDO since the very beginning.  We launched in Glasgow in 2017 and are delighted to have our Chair based in the West as we continue to grow our membership throughout Scotland.

Gordon has fantastic ideas and plans for WeDO going forward and we’re looking forward to bringing those to fruition as we re-shape our organisation in light of COVID-19.”
