WeDO Member Lance Gauld Sells Cloud Cover IT to Aspire Technology Solutions

We love hearing about the successes of our members and are thrilled that Lance Gauld of Glasgow-based managed service provider Cloud Cover IT who has sold the business to English IT firm Aspire Technology Solutions.  Aspire has offices in Gateshead, Teesside, Leeds and London.

As part of the investment, Cloud Cover will be rebranded Flyte as part of the Aspire group’s software development and business applications division.

Cloud Cover has been delivering IT support and digital transformation solutions for more than 11 years.  Commenting on the sale, Lance said:

Aspire’s founder and chief executive Chris Fraser said: “This move will strengthen our presence in Scotland, positioning us in a thriving market.

“The Cloud Cover team will become an integral part of the Aspire group, and together, we believe we can grow significantly in this key strategic market.”

After 17 years in the technology sector, Aspire now serves more than 1,700 customers, with a team of around 250 staff at offices in Gateshead, London, Leeds and Teesside.  Aspire is backed by private equity firm LDC.

The recent appointment of Tom Howard as chief financial officer has set a new financial strategy, via organic growth and expansion through acquisitions.
