We recently enjoyed a thoroughly enjoyable evening with?Santander who were marking the opening of their new Corporate Banking Centre in Edinburgh in the company of business leaders and advisors drawn from across Edinburgh and surrounding area?s business community.
During his welcoming address, Regional Director of Santander, Graham Silcock,?referred to some examples of how Santander is seeking to support businesses through innovative initiatives. These included:
Financial support is available to Scottish SMEs by providing ?1,500 to cover 50% of the costs of a 3 month internship. The process is very straightforward; a short job description is prepared by the prospective employer and sent to one of their Partner Universities. ?Across Scotland, Santander’s University Partners include Heriot Watt, Napier, University of Edinburgh, Queen Margaret, Stirling, St Andrews, Glasgow University, Glasgow Caledonian, University of Strathclyde and University of Aberdeen.
to get things moving are the following:
- A short job description.
- The selected University where an SME would like to advertise any position
To support the efforts of Scottish SMEs seeking to internationalise, ?as part of their Breakthrough programme, Santander will soon be running 3 subsidised week long trade missions in May and June of this year to Spain, Poland and Mexico. The costs are largely met by Santander with selected companies asked to contribute just ?1,000 towards the cost.
3) Santander?s Red Box Business Festival: Coming in May to St Andrew Square
Finally, Santander are delighted to be holding a series of week-long business festivals around the UK throughout 2015. St Andrew Square will host the Santander ?Red Box? Festival between 11th and 15th May.
We wish all of the Edinburgh team all the very best in their new home which has some of the most spectacular views in the city – we look forward to visiting again soon.
