“Try and be extraordinary” – sage advice from Iain Swanston of Klozers at our second Networking Breakfast
“If you think of salespeople as liars, cheats, money grabbers, pushy and selfish, it’s no wonder you don’t want to be one.
The fact these things repulse you means you have exactly the right values to be a great salesperson.”
A thought provoking observation from Iain Swanston of Klozers who we were delighted to welcome as the speaker at our second Networking Breakfast on 24th March at Johnnie Walker Princes Street. Iain is a long-standing friend of the WeDO community, and won our 2015 New Start Business Award. Iain is one of those speakers that, no matter how often you invite him back (which in our case is on a regular basis!), he always has something new to share.
We were once again delighted to have high levels of attendance at the event, only 3 off capacity and there were many valuable connections made and meetings arranged. The benefit of having a full hour dedicated to networking at these breakfasts is definitely reaping rewards. Our thanks to everyone who came along and helped make it such a success, also to the Johnnie Walker Princes Street Team for impeccable hosting and a delicious breakfast.
Iain shared many tips and benefits from his experiences, the following particularly resonated with us all:
“In sales you will never be successful unless your motivation and hunger exceeds your ability to avoid hard work.”
He also shared the key lessons he has learnt during an incredibly successful career in sales, and now as the leading global sales training company in Scotland …
- Hungry to work.
- Hungry to learn.
- Hungry to help others.
- Hungry for your own success.
Another sage piece of advice from Iain was “Try and be extraordinary, you’ll have a much more fulfilling life.” resonates perfectly with our tagline …
“Individually we can be successful, together we can be extraordinary.”
Our thanks to Iain for taking the time to join us, not least in light of an exceptionally busy time at Klozers who are currently delivering multiple sales courses and coaching sessions across the globe.
Our next Networking Breakfast is taking place on Thursday 28th of April with Jason Clarke and Charlie Craig, co-founders of Gen!us Brewing who you may have seen on Dragon’s Den in April 2021. They will be sharing their journey from launching Scotland’s first light craft lager to their Dragon’s Den appearance – it’ll be fantastic to hear the inside scoop on what really happens in the Den! You can find out more and book your ticket by clicking HERE.
In the meantime, here are more photos from yesterday, we think you’ll agree we’re very fortunate to be hosting our Edinburgh events in such a stunning venue.
